The Audi A6 Diesel offers a winning combination of fantastic build quality, real practicality and classic Audi style.
There are three body types to choose from: the standard saloon, the Avant estate and a second estate-shaped car called the Allroad. As the name suggests, this is a genuine 4x4 that combines the famous Quattro system and real off-road ability with the sophistication for which the maker is well-known.
All A6 models offer a great range of diesel engines. The most popular is generally the 2L which can deliver 174bhp and a fuel consumption figure of 56mpg. In 2014, the diesel engines were slightly modified to bring them in line with European emissions standards.
Drive in an A6 Diesel and the first thing that you notice is that the noise of the engine hardly intrudes at all, whatever the speed. This is thanks both to its great refinement, the excellent insulation and the sound-proofing in the cabin.
The ride is smooth and sure-footed as the car handles superbly thanks to both the choice of three suspension modes and the Drive Select that adapts to each driver's particular style.
