Is the Audi RS5 an exciting ride?
The Audi RS5 is as fast as its closest rivals, including the Mercedes C63 S and BMW M4. Still, the RS5 is surprisingly quiet, which is a good thing for those who like to remain discrete while cruising the roads. It also has an excellent grip on the tarmac, allowing you to take sharp bends at higher speeds. However, because it's too refined, it's sometimes less exciting to ride in certain conditions.
How do the different driving modes work on the Audi RS5?
If you go for an Audi RS5 with adaptive suspension, you get 3 driving modes: Comfort, Auto and Dynamic. The Comfort driving mode is suitable for bumpy roads as it better dampens bumps, while the Auto driving mode is suitable for when you need to maintain a great grip on the tarmac. The Dynamic driving mode reduces the RS5's body roll by stiffening the suspension, but as a result, you'll more easily feel road imperfections inside the car.
Is the Audi RS5 suited for long-distance cruising?
Like other vehicles in its class, taller passengers won't find the rear too enjoyable. While the ride is still relatively comfy and quiet for quick trips, it lacks the rear leg and headroom needed to make the RS5 ideal for long-distance cruising. Unfortunately, this design style seems to cut across the entire class of compact performance cars, as even the Mercedes and BMW rivals have the same cramped rears. For front-seat riders, the sports seats are spacious and comfortable enough for longer journeys. However, the large sports seats in the rear mean back-seat passengers (over 5'9") will need to compromise a bit of wiggle room for a snug, comfy fit.
How much luggage space is available on the Audi RS5?
The RS5 has a 460-litre boot space, which is more than most of its closest rivals. The RS5 has a wide loading area that's easy to open, making it easier to load or unload suitcases and other cargo. The rear seats are versatile, folding with a split ratio of 40:20:40. When they're completely down, you can open up an extra 480 litres of precious cargo room.
Is the Audi RS5 a safe ride?
The Euro NCAP has never crash-tested the RS5, but it did test the Audi A5, which is very similar to the RS5. The A5 earned the maximum 5-star safety rating in the NCAP crash-test scores. Some of the great safety features on the RS5 include a multi-stage electronic stability control system, autonomous braking, Isofix child-seat mountings and several driver-assist tech features.
