The Audi S5 Convertible is the super-sporty version of the A5 range and it's a car that certainly delivers in every department by offering stunning performance and great levels of luxury.
it's powered by a 3L TFSI V6 engine that can deliver 333bhp and take you from 0-62mph in just 5.6 seconds, yet only returns a very practical 30mpg. As with many of the manufacturer's higher-powered cars, it has Quattro four-wheel drive and there's a choice of either a six-speed manual or Tiptronic automatic gearbox.
The handling is a very appealing combination of sporty performance and grand tourer luxury, with especially firm and supportive leather seats that are both heated and adjustable. Passenger comfort is further enhanced by the addition of a wind-deflector that avoids excessive turbulence even when the car's being driven at speed with the roof down.
As you'd expect from a car like this, standard equipment levels are excellent with dual-zone climate control, a 6.5 inch screen that controls everything from the sat-nav to the stereo, xenon headlights, parking sensors and rain-detecting wipers. With a 380-litre boot capacity, it's surprisingly practical too.
