Originally launched in 1985, the first BMW M3 Coupe was only released so the manufacturer could qualify for Group A motor racing. However, 2013 saw the last M3 Coupe produced, signalling the end of a modern performance hero and hailing it as the most successful touring and grand touring car to have ever raced.
The most recent M3 Coupes come with a 420bhp 4L V8 engine capable of 0-62mph in 4.3 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 155mph. The addition of an advanced seven-speed double-clutch automatic box reduced gear changes to less than a tenth of a second, bringing the 0-62mph sprint under four seconds.
The M3 Coupe comes with a comprehensive list of standard equipment, including exclusive M Sport body styling kit and trim, electrically adjustable heated leather seats, climate and cruise control, a Bluetooth-enable DAB stereo system with USB and aux ports, plus front and rear parking sensors.
Few other cars can offer you Porsche 911 performance allied to comfortable accommodation for four adults. Wide doors and sliding front seats make access to the rear relatively easy, and there's plenty of legroom. There's even a generous 445-litre boot for all of your luggage.
Keep an eye out for the special edition coupes released during its lifetime, including the 4.4L GTS and the M3 DTM Champion Edition.
