The BMW X6 is the manufacturer's competitor in the luxury SUV market and the X6M is the sportier model of the range.
The car is powered by a mighty 4.4L V8 twin-turbo engine that can develop a huge 567bhp. This translates into a 0-62 acceleration figure of just 4.2 seconds - a truly astonishing achievement for such a large and heavy car. All four wheels are driven by the engine through an eight-speed Steptronic gearbox which offers a smooth transition between gears.
Despite all this sporty power and performance, driving the X6M is a very relaxing and calm experience. You sit high up in the cosseted and comfortable cabin and enjoy a ride that is firm, but not too firm. To further adjust this, there is Adaptive Dynamic Suspension with both comfort and sport modes.
The 580-litre boot area offers quite a high level of practicality, while the equipment levels are high with heated seats, top-of-the-range stereo with DAB radio, climate control and satellite navigation all fitted as standard. The multi-function steering wheel also has handy integral paddles.
