Chevrolet Orlando
The Chevrolet Orlando was manufactured between 2011 and 2014 by the Chevrolet branch of America's General Motors. It's a mid-sized but chunky five-door people carrier which offers seven seats and a choice of engines: a tried-and-tested 1.8L and powerful 2.4L petrol, and two fast and smooth 2.0L diesels. It also offers six-speed manual or six-speed automatic gearboxes.
It was a handsome vehicle that gained praise for avoiding the blocky design of some of its rivals. Inside the cabin you'll be impressed with the light and airy feel and the seats are arranged in a 2-3-2 formation. While the standard boot is 79 litres, the middle row can be tipped up and moved forward easily to make more space.
The Orlando is nice to drive with more grip than you'd expect and more stable road manners than many MPVs. The equipment levels are varied: the LS model has steel wheels while the top LTZ versions get alloys, as well as climate control, auto lights and wipers, and sat-nav comes an optional extra.
