Even though the Edge had been available in other markets, it didn't arrive in the UK until 2016, during its second generation. It fitted in the lineup above the Ford Kuga and EcoSport, but shared a platform with the Mondeo, S-Max and Galaxy. It's one of the largest Ford vehicles to be sold in the UK without a seven-seater option, with the carmaker opting instead for a more spacious boot instead. Even though production continues elsewhere, the Edge was removed from UK sales in 2019.
