There's a very good reason why the Ford Fiesta is one of the country's most popular cars in its class. For a small car, it has some ideas normally only found in bigger, more expensive models. Automatic versions of the car are also available in a wide range of trims from the entry level Style to the Zetec ECOnetic which combines low emissions with a high spec and the top of the range Titanium X.
Petrol engines range from 1.0L up to a 1.6L. For diesels, the best is probably the 1.5L TDCi which can deliver up to 76mpg. Choosing an automatic gearbox adds an extra level of ease and convenience to the driving experience. In models from autumn 2013 onwards the Powershift automatic transmission was introduced which incorporates two clutches to provide even smoother gear changes.
Although it may be a small car, the Fiesta Automatic is surprisingly spacious inside and it's also good on motorways too, feeling solid to drive at high speeds and with wind noise kept to a minimum.
There are also many innovative features, including both keyless entry and ignition, and the Easy Fuel system that makes it almost impossible to put diesel in a petrol-driven car and vice versa.
