Why buy a used Ford Fusion?
Do you fancy the Ford Fiesta but wish for a more contemporary version of it? Consider the Ford Fusion. The car came into the market to rival leading superminis in the multi-purpose vehicle category. While the Honda Jazz and Nissan Note managed to retain their place, the Ford Fusion proved a better option for those who prioritise practicality and reliability. Although production has ended, you can still find used Ford Fusion cars in the UK. Find Ford Fusion for sale.

Used Ford Fusion FAQ's
How does the Ford Fusion feel and handle?
Ford is famous for class-leading handling, and the Fusion was no different. Even after thousands of miles, the Fusion still feels and drives excellently. You might find the body roll a little unsettling if tackling bends at high speed, but its relatively soft suspension keeps the ride comfortable.
Is the Ford Fusion a comfortable car?
The Fusion is a more spacious and better-performing upgraded version of the Fiesta. As such, it offers much more headroom and ample legroom for front and rear occupants. The lack of reach and rake adjustment on the steering makes it a bit less comfortable for longer drives, but passengers will find the Fusion a comfortable ride with its firm and comfy seats.
What engine options are available for the Ford Fusion?
You can choose between 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre petrol units. If you prefer diesel, you can select the 1.4 or 1.6-lite TDCi engine option. The petrol motors are more powerful, smoother and quieter. On the other hand, the diesel engines are more efficient, making them a better bargain if you plan to drive your Fusion on long trips. The TDCi diesel Fusions were slightly more costly than their petrol counterparts.
Are used Ford Fusion cars expensive to run?
The Fusion engines are impressively efficient! The 1.6-litre petrol engine provides 35-42 mpg and has CO2 emissions of 157 g/km. The 1.4-litre petrol engine has even lower CO2 emissions at 154 g/km. The diesel engines are even better, offering efficiency ranging from 55-62 mpg and maximum CO2 emissions of 120 g/km. Additionally, because the Fusion dropped value quickly, it's a very affordable vehicle in the used car market.
How much luggage space does the Ford Fusion have?
Although the Fusion is similar to the Fiesta, it doesn't have the same rear sliding bench seats. However, the Fusion does have split-folding rear seats, which leave you with a spacious 1,000 litres of cargo room to store your luggage. In case you need to move longer items, the flat-folding passenger seat gives way to open up even more space. The Fusion's lip is a little lower than the Fiesta, too, making loading and unloading easy.
Is there an automatic transmission for the Ford Fusion?
The Fusion's closest option to an automatic transmission is its Durashift EST gearbox, which comes with the 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre petrol engines. Durashift is Ford's clutch-less manual gear selector system, which only requires a quick push-pull on the lever to shift gears. The other engine options come with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
What safety features come with the Ford Fusion?
The Ford Fusion earned a 4-star safety rating in the Euro NCAP crash test. Thanks to its rigid body structure and reinforced side-impact door beams, the Fusion is one of the safer vehicles to take on the road. The anti-submarining ramps help prevents passengers from sliding under the seatbelt in a head-on collision. However, curtain and side airbags were optional, which very well might have contributed to the Fusion's one-star loss.
