Fourth Generation (2020 to 2023)
With the fourth-generation Jazz, you will only find hybrid variants on the used market. The brand-new Crosstar model also added a better suspension, a water-repellant interior and a rugged body for increased practicality and a dose of SUV-inspired style. Across the lineup, an automatic CVT gearbox also became standard.
The powertrain changes led to the most efficient Jazz yet, and ensured it remained in line with or ahead of the competition. Across the lineup, the newest generation also features the most high-tech interior, with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and more connectivity options.

Second Generation (2008 to 2015)
The second generation didn't offer huge changes over the earlier models. It carried over the 1.2- and 1.4-litre engines from before, yet Honda replaced the CVT to include an automated manual instead. The Jazz also grew slightly wider and longer, giving more shoulder and leg room.
In 2010, Honda brought a hybrid variant to market. It contained a 1.3-litre engine but was more efficient than before, with a rating of 63mpg. The hybrid version was not particularly popular (thanks to a higher price), which is why they are rare on the used market.

Used Honda Jazz FAQ's
Are the Honda Fit and Jazz the same?
Honda builds the Jazz nameplate for Britain, Europe, the Middle East, India, Southeast Asia and some other parts of the world. The same vehicle is rebadged as the Fit in the Americas, Taiwan, China, Sri Lanka and Japan.
Which is the most popular engine in the Honda Jazz?
The fourth-generation Jazz only comes with a hybrid powertrain. It's the most efficient to date. Older models can be equipped with a petrol engine that's not a hybrid.
What are the most popular trim levels?
Honda builds the new Jazz in four trim levels: Elegance, Advance, Crosstar Advance and Advance Sport. While they are similarly built mechanically, there are more features to enjoy as you go up through the levels. However, the price rises accordingly.
What optional extras should I look out for?
Heated front seats and a heated steering wheel can add more comfort during winter. Added technology features, such as Garmin navigation or smart keyless entry and start, can also be beneficial.
Is the Honda Jazz a good family car?
The Honda Jazz is immensely practical. While it's on the smaller side in terms of exterior dimensions, there's plenty of room for adults in the back, and the boot space can be expanded to hold a good amount of luggage, making it great for busy families.
Is there a hybrid version of the Honda Jazz?
The newest Honda Jazz (from 2020 onwards) only comes as a hybrid model. During the previous generations, Honda provided other petrol powertrains, allowing for more choices when shopping for a used car.
Is the Honda Jazz available as an automatic?
Yes, the new lineup contains a hybrid powertrain that pairs with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). With this setup, efficiency is maximised to save money on petrol.
