Hyundai built the i30 with petrol, diesel and mild hybrid engines, paired with a manual or an automatic transmission and standard front-wheel drive.
Petrol- 1.0-litre T-GDi uses 48V mild-hybrid tech to create 118bhp for a 0-62mph time of 11.4 seconds, and it has the best petrol rating of 54.3mpg.
- 1.4-litre T-GDi generates 138bhp and has a 44.1mpg fuel economy rating.

Third Generation (2017 to 2012)
Hyundai had already appeared to perfect the design of the i30 by the time the third generation arrived. Aside from a larger glass area added to the third window behind the back doors and a redesigned available roof spoiler for some models, much of the styling remained the same. This new lineup received more modern tech and comfort features.
Several facelifts have occurred since its introduction. For example, a 2018 update revealed redesigned lines that appeared more elegant, while the 2020 refresh added a new bumper, giving the i30 a more striking look. A 2024 facelift upgraded the front grille and lower bumper, so that's why used i30s will look slightly different from one another, depending on when they were made.
