Engines and transmissions

There are diesel, petrol and plug-in hybrid variants of the Range Rover Evoque, all equipped with AWD. The three-door eD4 is only available in FWD.

Petrol
  • Mild hybrid engines range from 249 to 309bhp, depending on the trim.
  • P300e PHEV pushes 309bhp for a 0-62 mph time of 6.4 seconds.
  • Fuel consumption rating up to 190.9mpg with the P300e PHEV variant.
Diesel
  • Ranging between 163 and 204bhp, depending on the trim.
  • Best fuel economy 46.7mpg with D165 and a manual transmission.

Practicality

A comfortable interior makes the drive enjoyable, but space can be limited for larger passengers.

Interior space
  • Adjustable driver's seat and steering wheel allow for customisation.
  • Lack of headroom can make the cabin feel cramped.
  • Rear doors open wide for better accommodation.
  • Middle seat in the back is not a good fit for adults.
Boot space
  • 591-litre boot in petrol and diesel variants.
  • PHEV reduces boot space to 471-litres.
  • Rear seats fold in three different sections, 40/20/40, allowing for more cargo space.

Safety

  • Five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP.
  • Adult occupancy score is 94%, with child occupancy reaching 87%.
  • Standard safety kit includes traffic sign recognition and parking sensors.

Technology

  • Newest model's large 11.4-inch touchscreen display stands out in the cabin.
  • Digital driver display provides crisp graphics.
  • Standard wireless device charging keeps smartphone batteries full.

Land Rover Range Rover Evoque video review

Different generations of used Land Rover Range Rover Evoque

Land Rover released the Range Rover Evoque in 2011 as the brand's entry-level SUV. None other than Victoria Beckham was among the design team, ensuring that it met the requirements for it to be the most stylish Land Rover ever. Since its introduction, it has been through two generations and several light refreshes, each bringing more technology and style to the table.

Second Generation (2019 to Present)

After its initial success, the second-generation Range Rover Evoque gained a few inches in length thanks to a bigger wheelbase. It also grew slightly taller but became narrower. An updated infotainment system was added to the centre console that included a tilting touchscreen display.

A 2023 refresh included some styling changes, without altering the powertrain choices. An updated grille was installed and the headlights became slightly thinner because of the Pixel LED design.

First Generation (2011 to 2018)

When the first generation launched, Land Rover supplied the Evoque in several bodystyles, including three- and five-door versions and a convertible. All showcased the same high-class design with its large front bumper, narrow grille and slim headlights. Flared wheel arches accommodated big wheels for further style points.

A 2015 refresh included newer door panels and soft-touch materials for heightened luxury. It also added standard 8-way adjustable seats and an 8-inch infotainment system to keep the cabin relatable.

Used Land Rover Range Rover Evoque FAQ's

Is the Range Rover Evoque worth buying?

As a lower-cost Land Rover model, it may be worth buying the Evoque for a good balance of luxury and power. The interior is high-class, and it has decent off-roading potential.

Are there both manual and automatic versions of the Range Rover Evoque?

Yes, you can purchase both manual and automatic versions of the Evoque on the used market. The automatic is much more common, however, due to its popularity as a specification option when bought as a new car.

Does the Range Rover Evoque come with four-wheel drive?

The vast majority of used Range Rover Evoques you will see for sale are equipped with four-wheel drive. About 1-in-10 are front-wheel drive however. While less capable off-road, they do have the benefit of being cheaper to run due to better fuel economy.

What do the letters and numbers mean on the used Range Rover Evoque listings?

The numbers refer to the engine's fuel type and power output. For instance, the D180 is a Diesel with 180bhp, and a P250 is a petrol with 250bhp.
