Lexus GS
Lexus cars have a reputation for being luxurious, refined and packed full of technology. The GS is all of those things, and many more. A mid size executive saloon, it's a fantastic car in its own right and brings a breath of fresh air to an otherwise competitive and elitist niche. The truth is you don't have to buy German to get a high quality auto with sporting prowess; the proud Japanese Lexus is all the proof you need.
It has been going since 1991 and has always been a popular alternative to the likes of BMW, Audi and Mercedes. A number of different generations have been produced, the most modern of which are very attractive in terms of both design and performance. With some big engines, 4 doors and cutting edge technology like EPS, VGRS, ECB and AVS, it's abundantly clear that the GS certainly isn't BS, but is rather well equipped for high flying executives with families.
Modern versions of the Lexus are very tasty to lay eyes upon, and are exactly what you'd expect of a luxury 4 door saloon from Japan. A lot of sharp angles and strong shapes make it nicely futuristic, but not to the extent that it becomes attention seeking. There's a nice balance between understated and bold, and it really works well. The cabin is of high quality and even the smallest details haven't been overlooked. Comfortable seats, a decent amount of space and no end of equipment such as Mark Levinson stereos, sat nav, climate control and even more. it's fully loaded from head to toe.
The GS is great to take out on the road thanks to its precise handling, comfy ride and nice balance. it's hugely quick thanks to some beastly V6 and V8 engines, although they aren't the most economical in the world; they are a lot of fun however and ensure that the Lexus isn't lagging behind its rivals. Ideal as a motorway cruiser, it can also handle back roads well, and you wouldn't feel at all flustered if it was your turn to take the boss out to lunch.
As a luxury car, the Lexus doesn't come cheaply, but you can lessen to the damage to your bank account quite drastically by getting one pre owned. While there's a vast places to check out, Motors.co.uk is certainly one of the best thanks to its huge selection of second hand cars for sale, low prices and high quality. Essentially you'll pay less for something that's almost like new, and this is exactly the kind of thing you'd want to hear when trying to find a used Lexus GS.
Plainly then, even though there might be an abundance of European cars competing fiercely in the executive class, the Japanese Lexus is more than a match for them. Excellent to look at, great to drive and packing a lot of performance, it's certainly not lacking in prestige, and the fact there aren't many on the road will make you part of quite an exclusive club.
