Why buy a used MINI Electric?
The MINI Electric is a perfect choice for those transitioning to electric vehicles. It retains the fundamental MINI principles that are present in the rest of the brand's popular range. Featuring a responsive and fun to drive electric engine, the MINI Electric maintains the speed and the classic driving experience that's become synonymous with its petrol and diesel counterparts.

Used MINI Electric information
Engines and transmissions
- Powered by a 32.6kW battery equivalent to a max power output of 181bhp.
- Automatic gearbox as standard due to its all-electric powertrain.
- Offers 200lb-ft of torque to the front wheels making the car capable of reaching 0-62mph in 7.3 seconds.
- The battery is claimed to have a range of up to 145 miles which falls short of ranges offered by models such as the Peugeot e-208 or Corsa Electric.
Practicality
- Space for four passengers with rear seats accessible via the driver and passenger doors.
- With the rear seats upright there is 211 litres of boot space extending to 731 with the rear seats folded down.
- The boot provides enough space for a couple of small cases or a week's worth of shopping with a hidden compartment for smaller items.
- Those looking for additional boot space could consider the Nissan Leaf or Renault Zoe.
Safety
- Whilst the electric model has not been tested by Euro NCAP, the petrol-powered version has, receiving 4 stars in 2014 under the previous regulations.
- Does lack some advanced safety tech that's offered by rivals, but is still available with features such as automatic high-beam, traffic sign recognition and autonomous emergency braking.
- The car has been fitted with extra bracing to protect the battery in the event of an accident.
Technology
- Three style levels to choose from: Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 each offering different levels of customisation and styling.
- Features the trademark circular dial mounted in the centre console synonymous with the MINI brand with a 5.5 or 8.8-inch infotainment system which includes a sat-nav and Apple CarPlay.
- 5.5-inch screen behind the wheel in place of the classic dials.
Used MINI Electric FAQ's
What is the range of an electric MINI?
The MINI electric has a range of up to 145 miles. However, driving habits, environmental conditions and the age of the battery will affect the range.
How much does it cost to charge a MINI electric?
The cost of charging a MINI electric car will depend on a number of factors including the type of charger used, the car model and where the car is being charged. According to MINI, using a regular power socket at home could cost you £0.81p to charge the car to 10% in 65 minutes. If you use a PodPoint home charger it would cost the same amount, charging within 20 minutes. However, if you use a Type 2 (AC) public charger it could cost around £1.43.
What is the difference between MINI Electric Level 1 and Level 2?
The Electric Level 1 is MINI’s entry-level model. You’ll have the option of three wheel choices, two paint colours as well as a digital cockpit, automatic air conditioning, LED headlights and sports leather steering wheel fitted as standard. The Level 2 MINI Electric model includes all of the above with additional upholstery options and paint colours. This model includes additional features such as Front Park Distance Control, Harman Kardon Hi-Fi system, Head Up Display and a panoramic glass sunroof.
* Telephone numbers starting with 084X or 087X will cost you up to 13p per minute plus your telephone company's access charge. Calls to other telephone numbers will only cost your phone company's access charge.
