The Nissan Juke turned heads when it was launched as a more rugged alternative to conventional SUVs. Designed to stand out from the crowd, Nissan's concept inspired many more imitations with its distinctive styling.
The Juke comes with five different engines: a peppy 1.2 turbo and a normally aspirated or turbocharged 1.6 petrol, as well as a 1.5L turbo diesel. The sportier Nismo RS offers a 215bhp 1.6 DiG-T petrol motor that delivers 0-60mph in just seven seconds. Quick, precise steering, efficient automatic transmission and taut suspension make the car lots of fun on the open road, if a little jittery on bumpy city streets.
As you would expect, equipment levels on a Nissan Juke are of a good standard. The base model arrives with air-con, electric windows and 16 inch inch alloys, whilst the Acenta adds Bluetooth and USB connectivity, cruise control and bigger alloys. The Tekna and Nismo RS also get Nissan's Safety Shield 360-degree front, side and back cameras. Four-wheel drive is only available on the 1.6 turbo and Nismo RS.
From the front seats the Nissan Juke makes a good impression, with lots of room and a pleasing coupe-style dashboard. In the back, head and leg room is sufficient for the family and the latest models have improved on boot space.
