When it debuted in 2004, the Nissan Note was needed to fill a spot between the B- and C-segments. Two years later, it was on the roads of the UK. The second generation was unveiled in 2013 with major updates, but the Note didn't make it past the 2017 model year before it was discontinued in the UK.

When it was discontinued in 2017, the Note was available with two petrol engines and one diesel variant, paired to either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a CVT automatic transmission.
Petrol- Base 1.2-litre variant creates 78bhp and has an impressive fuel economy of 60.1mpg.
- Supercharged variant of the 1.2 litre increases power to 96bhp.
- Earlier models included a 86bhp 1.4-litre and a 108bhp 1.6-litre.
- 1.5-litre dCi outputs 88bhp with efficiency of around 80mpg.

- Sliding back seat makes room for adults.
- Rear middle seat best for a child.
- 325 litres of boot space with the rear seat all the way back.
- Sliding the back seat forward creates 411 litres of boot space.
- 60:40 split rear seats offer up to 1,495 litres of boot space.
Safety
- Euro NCAP rating gave four stars, which is in line with competitor models.
- Adult and child occupant ratings are 86% and 82% respectively.
- Multiple airbags and speed limiter are standard.
Technology
- Available 5.8-inch infotainment system fits the cabin well.
- Available Safety Shield systems provide parking aids, lane departure warning and a rear-view camera.
- Bluetooth interface offers a strong connection.

Different generations of used Nissan Note
Second Generation (2013 to 2017)
The second-generation Note was revealed in 2013, using the same platform as the Micra. Not only did its appearance improve, but it also had more comfort features and extra space compared to the original models. The V-shaped front was accentuated with swept-back headlights, and an A-shaped grille was adorned with fog lights on higher trim levels.
Inside the cabin, the centre console featured an infotainment system with navigation and a touchscreen. There were also several petrol and diesel engine options at the time it was discontinued.

First Generation (2006 to 2013)
The Renault-Nissan Alliance was responsible for the creation of the Nissan Note with its narrow hatchback design. Early models featured a short bonnet, tall body and swept-back headlights that gave it a distinctive look. Its small, compact size made it nimble and easy to park.
After just a couple of years, Nissan released a refresh to comply with Euro 5 regulations, creating lower CO2 emissions and more efficiency. The exterior appearance was also changed to include a reworked grille and chrome trim above the bumper.
