Even though SEAT had started designing its first SUV five years earlier, the Ateca didn't arrive until 2016. As a replacement for the Altea MPV, SEAT attempted to change with the times. Sharing a platform with the Volkswagen Tiguan and using much of the same technology, the Ateca instantly earned positive reviews from drivers. Even though it's still in the first generation, there was an update in 2020 offering a fresh and new look.
