Since being taken over by Volkswagen, the Skoda brand has gradually become more and more desirable. It offers cars that have the build quality that the parent company is famous for - but at lower list prices. This is also particularly true of the Rapid.
The car first entered the market in 2012 and featured a choice of four engines - three petrol variants of 1.2L and 1.4L and a 1.6L diesel. Automatic transmission was provided by a seven-speed automatic DSG. As part of a revamp a year later, Skoda added another engine to the line-up called the Greenline. As the name suggests, this is a low-emissions, high-economy engine that delivers fuel consumption of over 70mpg.
The car is available in saloon, estate and spaceback body styles with the latter two offering particularly spacious interiors. Passenger comfort is also enhanced thanks to well-upholstered seats and a very smooth and relaxed ride quality. The car comes with a choice of three specification levels and all of the Rapid range is well-equipped with features like air conditioning, cruise control and a multi-function steering wheel.
