  • Two standard ISOFIX points allow for loading child seats.
Boot space
  • 260-litre boot is comparable with the VW UP!, Fiat Panda and Hyundai i10.
  • 60:40 (SZ3 trim) or 50:50 (SZ-T/SZ5 trims) split rear seats create more cargo-carrying capability.

  • Standard safety kit includes hill hold control and brake assist.

Technology

Suzuki Ignis video review

Different generations of used Suzuki Ignis

The Ignis was first released in 2000 as a small supermini with a high driving position. It became so popular that the Ignis Sport junior 'hot' hatch was also produced. By 2007, Suzuki decided to discontinue the Ignis lineup but brought it back in 2017 as a city car with SUV-like styling. With design cues from the historic Suzuki models from years gone by, it remains one of the most distinctive small cars on the road.

First Generation (2000-2008)

As Suzuki sought to a smaller model to its the SUV lineup, it partnered with General Motors and Subaru to create the three- and five-door Ignis. The front of the 'SUV' looked similar to the Swift, but the rear windows had a smaller profile for a unique appearance. The interior provided a sporty feel with a distinctive instrument panel.

In 2003, the Ignis Sport was released with lower ground clearance for a sporty stance. The interior resembled a stripped-down version, but it was the perfect model to use as a junior sports hatch.

Second Generation (2017 to 2025)

With the rerelease of the Ignis, Suzuki added updated styling features, such as a two-tone dashboard and uniquely located door handles. The boxy SUV-inspired design added to the headroom and ensured the largest boot possible for the size class. The SZ5 model was released with Suzuki's ALLGRIP four-wheel drive system.

A 2020 refresh provided a new grille with five spokes and blacked-out A- and B- pillars for a more sporty appearance. It also featured new powertrain options, including the dual injection system for improved efficiency and throttle response.
