The first generation of the VW Crafter came into the market in 2011, built by Mercedes Benz, but VW released its in-house Crafter at the end of 2016. The VW-built Crafter came with several tech safety and performance features, making it the most popular in the new and used large van market. Under the second-generation Crafter's bonnet is a 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine that can push the bulky van from 0-62 mph in 10.5 seconds with a top speed of 110 mph. However, with the Crafter coming in over 60 variants, these figures are not universal.
During the 2016 launch, the Volkswagen Crafter came in 3 trims: Startline, Trendline, and Highline. However, the Highline is no longer available in newer versions of the model, limiting it to the used market. Some of the standard features in all the spec levels are:

The Business Pack that combines several options such as aircon, parking sensors, alarm and overhead storage was a standard in the Highline trim but is available as an upgrade option for the first two trim levels. Additionally, the Crafter is available in 69 versions differing on trim levels, load lengths and heights, body styles, drivetrain layouts and body size.
