The Vauxhall Astra Design is a higher end trim on this popular hatchback that really seems to do it all. Great to look at, fun to drive and well equipped, it's practical and spacious inside, and the build quality is very strong indeed. Excellent value for money, what you get is a decent amount of bang for your buck, and a motor that's just very likeable. Safe, secure and reliable, it's difficult to ignore. Equipped with 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0 litre petrol engines, 1.7 and 1.9 litre diesels are also on offer, so there's definitely some liveliness but solid fuel economy too.The Vauxhall Astra Design is definitely a well designed motor, as you might have guessed from the name, and the strong lines and shapes give it some attitude. The cabin is spacious, welcoming, bright and breezy, so getting in is always fun; the trim finish is good and with 350 litres of boot space it's also practical enough for daily use. On the equipment side of things, expect to see alloy wheels, cloth seats, air conditioning, CD stereo, electric mirrors, airbags, and even some driver assists. it's very easy to drive and responds well in the corners where there's no shortage of grip. Get yours for £7,000 used.
