Vauxhall's Insignia is a large family car that first appeared in the UK in 2008. It brings the advantages of prestigious manufacturing quality to the British roads, as it is produced by Vauxhall's sister brand Opel in Germany and shares its underpinnings with the Saab 9-5.
The Insignia was well received by the motoring press when it replaced the Vectra and Signum ranges. The cars are characterized by strong looks from all angles and upmarket cabins featuring plenty of new technology and luxurious extras.
The Insignia family includes five-door hatchbacks and four-door saloons. The estate version of the Insignia, however, is a very stylish car that takes the badge some way more upmarket than the saloon. Vauxhall has badged the estate as the Sports Tourer - a name that hints at the sleek lines of this load-carrying express.
Perhaps more importantly, the boot is one of the biggest in the class and the rear seats are easy to fold down to create an even more cavernous interior.
There is a wide choice of engines, from 1.4L to 2.8L, and both petrol and diesel. Top of the range is the high performance turbocharged V6, the Insignia Sports Tourer OPC.
In 2013, the range was refreshed and extended by the arrival of the Insignia Country Tourer, a four-wheel drive version of the Insignia Estate.
The range is extensive so if you are interested in buying a used Insignia Estate, Motors.co.uk's network of dealers will help you find the vehicle you're looking for.
