Third Generation (2018 to 2023)
With the third generation, VW built the Touareg to compete with higher-end models, but at a lower price. LED matrix headlights were added, along with three horizontal chrome bars on the grille. In the cabin, a 15-inch touchscreen and a 12-inch digital cockpit display were installed.
A 2024 refresh added more safety features, such as Park Assist Plus, Night Vision and Trailer Assist. There's also a smart system that uses the roof load sensor to adjust the stability control when carrying heavy gear.

Second Generation (2010 to 2019)
When the second-generation Touareg was shown in 2010, Volkswagen announced it as the biggest technical evolution in the company's history. The shape of the SUV remained the same, but bi-Xenon lights and a restyled bumper made it more dynamic. Available air suspension enabled the car to provide a smoother ride off-road.
A facelift came in 2014 with a new grille and four chrome lines. These lines extended out to the bigger bi-Xenon headlights. The interior offered new leather colours, improved controls and enhanced lighting solutions.
